Hey Chris, i went to the xorg people, however they said that, i quote "minimized windows is entirely a window manager concept." and has to be done by the compiz developers. I didn't play the ping pong game any further, as i expect a similar answer from the compiz developers.
I'd be happy if you would put some effort in this issue, I also would like to see a fix!
