Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
The new Modesetting drivers in 2.6.35 causes a kernel panic on my Radeon Mobilty U1 card, (IGP 320M) upon every startup. After the spinning mouse cursor appears, and before the KDM screen shows up the background, and login prompt, the spinning mouse cursor stops, and the CPU fan kicks up, and does not respond to capslock, or alt-sysrq-b. The non mode setting drivers do not cause a kernel panic. (starting the kernel with nomodeset) ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Radeon Mobility U1 modeseting drivers causes maverick kernel panic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/592913 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
