I tried to keep the cursor movements as "clean" possible. I can actually see "the jump" in xev.txt from about the two last "MotionNotify" events at the end of the file, but that's about it. Now, let's hope someone else sees more than I do.
Well, #2 isn't really an issue anymore due to gpointing-device-settings; let's just leave it and focus on #1 as Gier Ove Myhr proposed.
