Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
After upgrading to 10.04 from 9.10, no window manager is started when I login to GNOME via GDM. The applications in my startup items do launch, but they have no window decoration and I cannot switch input to any of them. To fix this, I have to switch to the console and run 'compiz --replace' to get a window manager. If I choose "Failsafe GNOME" from the login window, I get a window manager. This did not happen with Ubuntu 9.10 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: xorg 1:7.5+5ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-22.36-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-22-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 Date: Wed Jun 23 09:30:27 2010 DkmsStatus: nvidia-current, 195.36.24, 2.6.32-22-generic, x86_64: installed InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release amd64 (20091027) MachineType: Dell Inc.
