Alpha 2 linux 2.6.35-6 still has the same problems, on i845G requires i915.modeset=0 in linux boot line and Driver "vesa" in xorg.conf otherwise X hangs big time.
Alpha 2 CD Live did boot without these workarounds. It had one recovered crash which I reported, didn't copy the bug #, seemed to be the usual Gtk failure. Alpha 1 linux 2.6.34-5 still runs O.K. without the workarounds so both the intel driver and that maverick kernel work. Anyone know what changed? (I suppose a lot...)
