Yorkim, I just got an EEE PC 1005P which had a similar issue. It happened both in Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.04. Updating the BIOS from version 901 to 1103 fixed the problem. You may try to update the BIOS and see if it fixes the problem. On bug 513921 there are some suggestions for how to override the BIOS (e.g. acpi_osi=Linux on the kernel command line).
