You have been subscribed to a public bug: Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Release: 10.04
I have been using linux for about 15 years now, 8 on my personal machine but this one seems to be cooking my noodle to figure it out. It doesn't seem to matter whether I in any particular program, suddenly I will have no keyboard input except of course old faithful (Control - Alt - Backspace). Mouse input continues to work just perfectly. I have created a text doc on my desktop using the mouse and opened it... typed (blindly) and did a save with my mouse, restarted x and checked to see if the file was updated and that I couldn't see the updates occurring but the file remained empty after x restart so I don't believe its a screen update issue with Nvidia. Desktop effects (compiz) are disabled as well. Does anyone have any ideas. ---Some relevant and irrelevant info shown below---- -Computer- Processor : 8x Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60GHz Memory : 4050MB (879MB used) Operating System : Ubuntu 10.04 LTS User Name : jstockmans (Jeremy Stockmans) Date/Time : Thu 10 Jun 2010 09:28:36 AM EDT -Display- Resolution : 1600x900 pixels OpenGL Renderer : GeForce GT 230M/PCI/SSE2 X11 Vendor : The X.Org Foundation -Multimedia- Audio Adapter : HDA-Intel - HDA Intel Audio Adapter : HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia -Input Devices- Power Button Lid Switch Sleep Button Power Button Macintosh mouse button emulation AT Translated Set 2 keyboard HP Webcam Logitech USB Receiver Logitech USB Receiver ST LIS3LV02DL Accelerometer Video Bus HDA Digital PCBeep HDA Intel Mic at Ext Front Jack HDA Intel Line Out at Ext Front Jack SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad -Printers (CUPS)- Canon-GP-220 HP-LaserJet-1020 : Default HP-LaserJet-P1505 Lexmark-C534 -SCSI Disks- ATA Patriot Warp V2 hp DVDRAM GT30L ATA WDC WD6400BEVT-6 -xorg.conf- Section "Screen" Identifier "Default Screen" DefaultDepth 24 EndSection Section "Module" Load "glx" EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "Default Device" Driver "nvidia" Option "NoLogo" "True" EndSection xorg: Installed: 1:7.5+5ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:7.5+5ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1:7.5+5ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-keyboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Keyboard stops working suddenly - HP DV7 https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/592240 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-keyboard in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
