The patch referred to in comment #24 is now in the Maverick kernel,
could those of you affected by this issue test that kernel and report
back here. The patch is is kernel Ubuntu-2.6.35-11.16 and later. This
kernel can be found at the URL below, and should be installable on
Lucid:
