Looks like I may have the same error. It first occurred after I updated
the packages below.  So far, the error occurs every time I reboot, but
the "onset" varies.  Sometimes the system freezes before the login
screen even comes up, other times it freezes at the login screen, and a
few times I've been able to login and start doing things before the
system froze (but never for more than a few minutes).

When the system's frozen, Ctrl + Alt + F1 won't work.  However, I did
manage to get logged into tty1 *before* a freeze and observed the "Faild
to schedule IB" errors.

The setting from #7 didn't work for me.
