I don't experience a smooth transition from pylmouth to x. After the ubuntu boot logo has shown and X starts garbage is on the screen. Either it is some gfx from my last session (probably form gfx memory) or I see the image attached. This is shown for about two seconds and then gdm shows up correctly.
