I can report the same on a Dell Vostro 3300 with a built-in Intel GMA4500HD graph card. Running lucid 10.04 with xorg-edgers ppa for latest drivers. No restricted driver used (should not be necessary, does it even exist?).
At any resolution except 1024*768 with 75.1 (why the dot one?) mhz do I get a terrible flicker. In that resolution there is only a slight flicker. The monitor works fine in Windows7 at its optimal resolution of 1280*1024 and worked fine in Karmic on a different laptop my lshw -c output: *-display description: VGA compatible controller product: Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 2 bus info: p...@0000:00:02.0 version: 12 width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: msi pm bus_master cap_list rom configuration: driver=i915 latency=0 resources: irq:34 memory:fac00000-faffffff memory:c0000000-cfffffff(prefetchable) ioport:f080(size=8) -- [i855gm] VGA out flickering after upgrade to lucid (regression) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/589140 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
