Yeah, ubuntu-bug won't upload a bug report on an unofficial package version. It also gathers and attaches the output of glxinfo in its graphics-related bug reports, so it's pretty useless when the bug report is "glxinfo crashes X". :)
Do you have a machine to SSH into the affected system from?
