tried with 2.6.35-22.33; no change. I noticed this in the X log file:
[ 12.064] (II) Initializing built-in extension GESTURE [ 12.068] (II) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/dri/nouveau_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/dri/nouveau_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory) [ 12.068] (II) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering [ 12.068] (II) AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI capable [ 12.070] (II) AIGLX: Loaded and initialized /usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so No idea if this is related. Please let me know if there is any further things I can test out.
