I have this problem too, but on NVIDIA GPU (propertiary drivers, not mesa and nouveau now): - white screen on start - unity, mutter steal reloading (when wifi notification popup window disappears unity loads and stop reloading, but after that crashing again and another problem: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/641499
