why is the x-swat/x-updates ppa offering to install a maverick package
on lucid?

$ apt-cache policy fglrx
fglrx:
  Installed: 2:8.723.1-0ubuntu5
  Candidate: 2:8.780-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
     2:8.780-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates/ubuntu/ lucid/main
Packages
 *** 2:8.723.1-0ubuntu5 0
        500 http://ftp.tku.edu.tw/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/restricted Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     2:8.723.1-0ubuntu3 0
        500 http://ftp.tku.edu.tw/ubuntu/ lucid/restricted Packages

I had to force the version back to the old one from lucid-updates this
morning before I could use my system properly...

What happened to the correct lucid version that was installed on Friday
and which meant I could see the plymouth splash for the first time since
buying this laptop (Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series)?
