Yes, this is not surprising. The IDs are only present in the sourceforge
driver, not in the current upstream tree. So MAverick cannot support it.
I was referring to the backports modules package for Lucid which
provides the sourceforge driver.

It is not practical/desirable to mix in a sourceforge driver into the
standard kernel code as that generates hard to maintain code. The
backports approach may be an option for MAverick too. Though there is
considerable change in the area of multitouch code of the kernel and
that will likely require some testing to evaluate whether things work
there as expected, too.
