Update & Correction: This bug seems to be independent of the Video Driver.
Removing the Video Driver didn't resolve the problem. Maybe this is a regression with 10.10? Whenever the laptop suspends, resume results in failure, The system restarts to recover. With 10.04, I could safely Suspend though Hibernating did not function.
