Public bug reported: Upgrading from nvidia-current-256.53-0ubuntu3 to nvidia- current-260.19.06-0ubuntu1 broke my system.
I am using the customEDID option of the driver to provide the EDID, as my Sony VPCCW2S1E laptop has a somehow broken EDID. If I don't, when X starts, screen becomes black (off). (See https://bugs.launchpad.net/nouveau/+bug/629516 for a bug report on the same EDID problem with nouveau video driver.) Attached is my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. With 260.19.06, the option seems to be ignored... Downgrading to 256.53 made my system usable again. ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Latest update in nvidia-current broke my customEDID option https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/655032 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
