The output of "xrandr --verbose -d :0" is so long that I can't see the top portion, which I can see after playing is what we really need to see, but I did manage to get the output of "xrandr -d :0". This is the broken one:
ubu...@ubuntu:~$ xrandr -d :0 Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1600 x 1200, maximum 4096 x 4096 VGA1 connected 1600x1200+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 474mm x 297mm 1680x1050 60.6+ 74.9 1600x1200 75.0* 60.0 1400x1050 74.9 60.0 1280x1024 75.0 60.0 1280x960 60.0 1152x864 75.0 1024x768 75.1 70.1 60.0 832x624 74.6 800x600 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2 640x480 72.8 75.0 66.7 60.0 720x400 70.1 This is what it should be (copied from a Beta Live CD): ubu...@ubuntu:~$ xrandr -d :0 Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1680 x 1050, maximum 4096 x 4096 VGA1 connected 1680x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 474mm x 297mm 1680x1050 60.6*+ 74.9 1600x1200 75.0 60.0 1400x1050 74.9 60.0 1280x1024 75.0 60.0 1280x960 60.0 1152x864 75.0 1024x768 75.1 70.1 60.0 832x624 74.6 800x600 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2 640x480 72.8 75.0 66.7 60.0 720x400 70.1 So it's normal to have a mode for 1600x1...@75.0hz but it shouldn't be selected, in fact 1680x1...@60.6hz is shown as the preferred mode but possibly the bug in g-s-d is resulting in 1600x1...@75hz being selected? I'm going to shut down this monitor and disconnect it for a while because it's acting flaky now :^( It did this once before while trying to figure this out and disconnecting it for a few hours did the trick, so I'm hoping that'll do it again :^) -- Maverick xorg results in "out of range" error w/Intel i945 & 22" LCD https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/654660 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
