Have this problem. It is strange that left button does not work only if keyboard layout indicator (scroll lock led) is enabled. After disabling keyboard layout indicator left button works. Also, xinput list shows duplicate mouse device under "Virtual core pointer". After disabling second mouse device, one of duplicates, left button begins to work, even if keyboard indicator is enabled.
