When I plug in the mouse stick into usb, the following appears on dmesg:

[ 638.764127] usb 2-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
[ 638.935457] usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[ 639.037668] usbcore: registered new interface driver hiddev
[ 639.060385] input: 2.4GHz 2way RF Mouse Receiver as
/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb2/2-2/2-2:1.0/input/input10
[ 639.060715] generic-usb 0003:1BCF:0535.0001: input,hiddev96,hidraw0: USB HID
v1.11 Mouse [2.4GHz 2way RF Mouse Receiver] on usb-0000:00:1d.0-2/input0
[ 639.060757] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbhid
[ 639.060765] usbhid: v2.6:USB HID core driver

but actually the mouse doesn't work at all. I guess this is because
Ubuntu thinks it's a keyboard device according to `xinput list`:

"2.4GHz 2way RF Mouse Receiver" id=9 [XExtensionKeyboard]
        Type is KEYBOARD
        Num_keys is 248
        Min_keycode is 8
        Max_keycode is 255
        Num_buttons is 16
        Num_axes is 2
        Mode is Relative
        Motion_buffer is 256
        Axis 0 :
                Min_value is -1
                Max_value is -1
                Resolution is 1
        Axis 1 :
                Min_value is -1
                Max_value is -1
                Resolution is 1

Any ideas how to fix it ?

P.S. ubuntu 9.10 but same happened with 9.04 as well
