Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
With my IBM Thinkpad I used to have external monitors attached with the notebook lid closed. After upgrading from Debian Lenny to 10.04 and even now after further upgrading to 10.10 the option "IgnoreLidStatus" in xorg.conf is ignored or at least not recognized, because in Xorg.0.log it says: RADEON(0): Option "IgnoreLidStatus" is not used Immediately afterwards it says RADEON(0): Option "Bla" is not used because I inserted a nonsense option named "Bla" for testing purposes. Thus it reacts the same way to a documented option as it does with a nonsense option. That shouldn't happen I guess.
