I'm seeing the same thing on Maverick () with GM45. Previously Lucid had been fine.
When it occurs the mouse cursor remains responsive, but everything else is locked up. Switching to a VT shows the following repeating: [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed...
