Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
On a HP 8440p, I use the external monitor through the Display Port (and adapter to DVI). The monitor will not work unless I switch it on and immediately plug it in just after I power on the laptop (basically, I have to switch it on and connect it when I see the bios welcome screen). Once the monitor works, I can reboot and it will still work. If I switch off, I have to redo the same procedure. Output through VGA works instead normally.
