Did you add sudo command like "sudo sh Nvidia-Linux-x86-185.18.14-pkg1.run"
You can use sudo command to use a command as a root. By the way, you can also
install nvidia driver via System--Administration--Hardware Drivers or via
Synaptic Package Manager.
