New question #77500 on Ubuntu: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/77500
Hi. I decided to switch to Ubuntu to make my life easier, but.. After installing I can't run neither XP nor Ubuntu. I get Error 5 message after restart. I reinstalled Ubuntu three times and it's all the same. Now I am running from CD. Please help me somebody! I was trying to find answers in forums but it seems there are none. Here is what I have for the starters: ubu...@ubuntu:~$ sudo fdisk -ul Disk /dev/sda: 320.0 GB, 320072933376 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 38913 cylinders, total 625142448 sectors Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x00000001 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 63 268912034 134455986 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/sda2 268912035 625137344 178112655 5 Extended /dev/sda5 268912098 619900154 175494028+ 83 Linux /dev/sda6 619900218 624783914 2441848+ 83 Linux /dev/sda7 624783978 625137344 176683+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris before last reinstall I formated the non XP portion to ext3. probably that's why I have sda5 and sda6. All I want is to turn on my PC and have two boot choices - between WindowsXP(home) and Ubuntu 9.04. -- You received this question notification because you are a member of UF Unanswered Posts Team, which is an answer contact for Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
