Question #77562 on Ubuntu changed: https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/77562
actionparsnip proposed the following answer: Actually, the UNR has a top bar as this screenshot shows: http://microteknologias.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/ubuntu-netbook- remix-3.jpg KDE does not have a top bar, only a bottom bar: http://news.opensuse.org/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/kde4.png Hence me asking UNR does sound likely, You will find a little red power symbol in the top right corner, you can use that to power of and on as well as restart your system. If you wish to revert back to factory defaults you can boot to recovery root console and delete all the hidden folders (ones starting with a '.') and then log back in, you will then get stock bog-basic settings for ALL apps (you can see these by running: ls -a and delete them with rmdir <directory name to remove>) Hope this is what you mean. By the way if you lost you panel you can get it back by pressing F2 and typing: gnome-panel and hitting enter, if the system says it does not exist then you will need to press ALT+F2 and type: gnome-terminal and pres enter, then type: sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install gnome-panel then try rerunning the gnome-panel program as above. -- You received this question notification because you are a member of UF Unanswered Posts Team, which is an answer contact for Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
