Hi,
I've recently lost all sound drivers in Ubuntu 8.04, Dell mini 12 - possibly
after an upgrade. Previously it worked well. Now there is no /dev/snd/ and
reinstallation of alsa packages and gstreamer plus modprobe and reboot failed
to fix the problem I do have a recognised soundcard as follows:
lspci | grep -i audio
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation System Controller Hub (SCH Poulsbo)
HD Audio Controller (rev 06)
After reinstalling modules as follows I thought the problem would be fixed,
sudo apt-get install linux-ubuntu-modules-$(uname -r)
But no! The modules are all there but sound is not working.

... (lots of other modules but none which look like Pouslbo chip, unless its
masquerading as another name)...
Am I right in suspecting this is a Poulsbo issue? Or is there some other
problem I am missing. It would be nice to get Amarok back in business.
