Question #78389 on totem in ubuntu changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/totem/+question/78389
Mark Overton posted a new comment: Hello Nandan, Yes, it also did that for me when I tried to play an mp3. But later, when I tried to play a CD, no message appeared. Here are the steps to reproduce: 1. Install Ubuntu. 2. Try to play an mp3 file. A message appears, and install the codecs (gstreamer) needed for mp3. Note that this is not all of the gstreamer codecs. 3. Play a CD .wav file. No message appears.
