New question #78706 on Ubuntu: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/78706
I clicked on the "Problem Solved" button instead of "Send More Information," so my sound problem continues. However, I have made progress toward a solution. I found that the necessary .ogg sound files are listed in usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/stereo. So, the problem is not that there are no sound files to play. Rather, why they don't play is now the issue. For system info, here is the output of "uname -a": Linux douglas-desktop 2.6.28-14-generic #47-Ubuntu SMP Sat Jul 25 00:28:35 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux. And running "lsb_release -a" gives: No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 9.04 Release: 9.04 Codename: jaunty Mine is a dual-boot machine with Windows XP Pro. -- You received this question notification because you are a member of UF Unanswered Posts Team, which is an answer contact for Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
