New question #78725 on Ubuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/78725

It's weird. 9.04 works fine off the installation CD but now that I've installed
it, loading off the HD gets as far as the splash screen and then stalls
(intermittently initially but after I tried to fix the problem by installing
the ATI binary X.Org driver - which should have been OK for my ATI video card -
now everytime) . From the questions on this site, it seems my problem is not
unique.

At the moment I have 8.04, 9.04 and Vista installed. Until such time as others
much more expert than me can fully sort out 9.04, I have gone back to 8.04 (and
Vista for a couple of legacy apps that don't have satisfactory Ubuntu
equivalents).

In the meantime I would like to fully uninstall 9.04 - at least that should
allow me to have another go at getting it running in due course.

What is the best way to do this ?

Thanks

Ted
