Title:
ardour-2.3 hickup and then freezes when routing inside a channel
changes but plugin requires it stay the same

Status in ardour package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ardour

when jack dies ardour can be told to reconnect but fails (can't hear
any output) to do so and if session is saved, channels must be
reconfigured when ardour is started up again. routing within the
channels depends on if input = stereo/mono and output = stereo/mono.
but plugins are loaded (that were loaded before jack died) into the
channel pre/post fader regardless of whether they fit (input->output
2->1, 1->2, 1->1 or 2->2 etc.) causing high cpu usage, audio stream
  interuptions and then crash.
