Erich, Thanks.  I totally understand.  I will try to contact the
volunteers working on ALSA to see what has changed.  Thanks again.

Title:
Tascam US-122 locks up system when audio is sent to it

Status in Ubuntu Studio:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
This bug seems to have started in Ubuntu studio 16 and is also in 18.
The interface used to work in earlier versions of Ubuntu Studio if the
usx2y drivers were loaded. The drivers now load but when audio is
sent to the device the system just locks up with no panic or anything.
is there anything I can send to assist in correcting this bug? This
audio interface has some features that many of us use, and even though
it has been discontinued by Tascam for quite some time, it is a very
good audio interface for use in the broadcast industry in remote
applications since it allows for good control of IFB levels.
