Hi - thanks for reporting this bug I replicate in 0.48.0 Windows 11 (actually if you keep ungrouping, the grey factory does indeed come back) and is no longer a problem in 0.92.4 Windows 11, or Inkscape 0.92.5 (0ad1ac969f, 2020-08-06) Linux Mint 20

After playing around a bit with that, I managed to access the "sky" part (Earth, ray arrows...) by "Object -> Clip -> Release". But there is still at least one object missing - the gray factories background. I am unable to access that.
