Thank you for your help. I already submitted my machine to LyteSpeed Computer repair and the program existed with the Ubuntu Studio kernel. The problem has been resolved by running a Windows boot loader with Vista and Ubuntu 10.04. This boot loader then redirects to a grub boot for Ubuntu.
