i have to use another distribution to boot into if something breaks, been using ubuntu studio since it was released and had to do that more than once. Even KXStudio ( http://kxstudio.sourceforge.net/ ) has a live DVD. If ubuntu studio only comes in a DVD install then there is more of a reason that the DVD should behave like an ubuntu based distro.
