Public bug reported:

I have found that upon a timed system Suspend (as set in Power Management), the
working
of the U/S sound system is interrupted and altered in its operation, or frozen,
by the time
I reactivate the computer from Suspend mode.

Everytime Suspend occurs I have to restart the machine after Suspend to get
anything to work,
with regard Audio processing.

The critical Debug question concerning this issue is :

How does a ReaL-Time system like U/S allow a destructive Suspend to
happen, when a critical process (Audio Processing) is under way,
without accurately saving everything that's required to achieve a
stable Restart, before Suspend is allowed to occur??

SUGGESTION

The current, in progress rewrite of Ubuntu Studio Controls could perhaps
include a
setup system for Suspend mode. The resulting core set of variables could be the
basis for a system wide, access of Global system-control variables - this
improvement
may pave the way for coherency across the modules - and therefore far better
system
coherency and stability.

This setup could provide for a seamless Suspend mode and recovery from Suspend,
to the exact
prior setup before the Suspend occurred.

Thanks
Ken Gibbs
