However, I have been working on a website update to Drupal 6 with a new theme for UbuntuStudio. There has been some discussion on the development mailing list [1], plus you can also see the latest screenshots images [2]. Not that this resolves the issue that you raise, but the expectation is that the new website will in the long run be easier to maintain, and thus hopefully will be kept up to date in a more timely manner.
