Hi Martin,

Hmm, perhaps a stupid question, but suppose we want to use the latest
2.4.x kernel in the 20070130 uClinux-dist for a Coldfire 5208 platform.
Can we use the 4.1.1 compiler (m68k-uclinux-tools-20061214) (or perhaps
CodeSourcerys 4.2.1) without problems? The prebuilt toolchains does not
assume a 2.6 kernel only?

It doesn't assume any specific kernel version. I use the 4.1.1 for
both 2.4 and 2.6 kernel development. There are lot of rather
annoying compile warnings generated when compiling a 2.4.x kernel
though.

There was some fixups required to use a newer compiler on 2.4 vintage
code. I don't recall if those are in the 20070130 release. They are
certainly in all recent uClinux-dist patches against 20070130.

Regards
Greg
