Hi,

After receiving your e-mail I've tried to install uDig on a Powermac G4 //
500 MHz (~ Pentium III 1GHz) with Mac OS X 10.4.3 (that rock's)
So :
- it's easy to install : Java 1.5 release 3 and unzip uDig)
- it's easy to launch : just click (;-)
But :
- it's really slow to render (really slow) : I've tested a 7 Mo
shapefile... about a minute
- it did crah after trying to open an empty shapefile : there is no see in
this area (;-)

It's better on Windows XP but with pentium 4 2 GHz (;-(.
