Hmmmm. I have verified that I can create a project at c:\aaaaa (no
.udig). The installer tries to create the workspace in Documents and
Settings/username/My Documents/workspace. You can change it by
modifying the shortcut in the start menu. the -data flag indicates
where the workspace should be.
Remember that you have to shut down uDig before the project is saved.
Also make sure you have write permissions.

I'm not sure why this is. I admit that I've found a related bug where
the name of the project as displayed in the view is the same, but a new
project is created. I've tested the development trunk as well as 1.0.5.
I will change the trunk so that the name of the new project reflects the
name of the directory chosen. Could that be where the confusion comes from?

I can't create new projects. I don't know if matters, bu my OS is Windows XP
SPANISH version (something related to "Documents & Settings" paths or something
else..?)
This is what I do. From the wizard:
1st- New & project
2nd- New project: C:\proyecto\aaaa
-->Here, we set a file or a directory? "aaaa" should have ".udig" extension?
Previously I created "C:\proyecto" directory
At this point "Next" button is not active, so I press "Finish" and... nothing
happen.. Inside of "C:\proyecto" nothing is created...
This sounds trivial, but I never had been able to do it.
