The word "delete" on the layer menu is too serious, should be "remove"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: UDIG-693
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/UDIG-693
Project: uDIG
Type: Bug
Components: layer
Versions: UDIG 1.1.M4
Environment: Mandriva gnu/linux 2006.1(cooker)
Reporter: Adrian Custer
Priority: Trivial
The context menu for layers has a "Delete" menu entry. "Delete" should be
reserved for operations where data actually disappears. The menu option removes
the layer from the map and discards all the styling information. However,
"Delete" seems like too serious a word. In the Catalog, the word used is
"remove" which is a better description. For most users, "Delete" will give them
serious pause and some angst the first time they do it. Then they will try to
remember: 'that delete doesn't delete data but only removes the layer'.
I suspect "remove" would be a better word.
cheers,
adrian
