objects involved and what I need in creating a shapefile with an
associated icon, and more than one point to draw that icon at.
Can you start with a shapefile of points, and play with the style system
so you get the picture you want?
Once you know the destination making a program to take you there should
be easier.
I still have not figured out exactly how I add a point to a new
shapefile layer. I now know I need to read up on SLD and FeatureTypes
as far as I can tell.
You should be able to use uDig as it is now to create a shapefile, and
add some points to it. Lets
get that far and we will talk about doing the styling you are interested in?
