Hi,
I'm aware that other people have developed similar software based on
uDig so it is certainly possible. One of the projects that
Refractions Research has worked on was a GeoVideo Client. The client
would register with a video stream that had geolocations embedded
into its caption. The client would show the video in an embedded
video client and dynamically update the location on the map as the
video indicated. There is a part of uDig called a mapGraphic that is
very useful for this type of use case.

Hi,
I have to develop an small application for fleet tracking, it does
not have to be real time, the user will load a file with the
position/times of the vehicles, and will want to display them on a
map and make some simple queries based on times, type of vehicle, etc
has anybody develop/came acroos something similar using Udig? is
Udig an appropiate framework for such a task? any other open source
project you know would me more approppiate?
I have experience with the Eclipse framework, but not much with
GIS apps, so thank you very much for your help
Alberto
