Hi everyone,

I'd like to propose a change to the repository structure. The reason is that the community folder is HUGE and makes checking out uDig a real pain in the @#$.
Hard call, we struggled to balance this one earlier while still following the layout of a normal eclipse project.
I am considering modifying the structure to this:

udig
--- branches
--- trunk
    --- community
    --- udig
    --- plugins
    --- features
    --- fragments
    --- bin
    --- deploy
    --- gt
    ---libs
    --- scripts
    --- tutorials
--- tags

This would permit people to just check out udig.
Sorry I do not see that, checking out uDig is useless - checking out trunk is what is needed....
Hmmm I'm having a second idea. We could set up a new section for our friends from Peru (Diva GIS) so they are no longer in the community folder.
You could drag out the community folder to be a peer of uDig, downside is versioning for the update site.

What if we made "community" the base, and one of the community projects was uDig...

/trunk/community
/trunk/community/udig
/trunk/community/udig/plugins
/trunk/community/udig/features
/trunk/community/udig/fragments
/trunk/community/diva/plugins
/trunk/community/diva/features
/trunk/community/jody/plugins/

Etc...?

Jody
