I don't think that is really our job. It certainly is not a priority for me. But regardless we will continue tagging the community each time we make a release so that a community branch is associated with trunk. I think the community will catch up to trunk eventually.

Does this not imply we should sort out which community plugins work where, and place then on that branch (1.0.x or trunk).
