hello
i know that the udig is a LGPL program that ude the GEOTOOLS
but i want to know that can i link it with other programs or library
or change it?
and then must i publish it ?
with which license?
these question arenot ask in www.fsf.org/lgpl.txt <http://www.fsf.org/lgpl.txt> what can i do? in that site speak about libaray not applications like UDIG.
LGPL library or applications are available for use in commercial applications, we do ask that if you fix anything you send the fixes home to us (if not you just need to refix next time we make a release). The uDig applicatoin in this context does work like a library, it is simply the framework you are using to construct your own application.

Please note that a uDig based application uses a number of licenses:
- there is code from eclipse.org
- there is LGPL code from the uDig GIS Platform and GIS Application
- there is LGPL code from the GeoTools library
- and so on...
