I know that it does and I am thinking about what to do about this.
One of the issues with making the catalog display titles is that it
requires connecting to the network in order to obtain the titles. So
I am trying to find another way. I am considering obtaining the
titles on when the resource is added to the catalog and saving that
data for the next time the catalog is loaded. This should allow me
to satisfy your request and still maintain our requirement of being
able to operate in a non-blocking and efficient manner with or
without network connection.
I will get on that.

Hi Jesse,
one remark about this, the catalog view still shows the names
instead of the titles.
Best regards,

I will fix this now, should only take a moment. Interesting is
seems that getName and getTitle were both returning the wms layer
name. That's fixed now and will be in uDig 1.1-RC2 next week.

Hi list,
just trying out uDIG 1.1 RC1.
I added a WMS, but why does uDIG use the <Name> element instead
of <Title>
element in the dialog?
All our layers have very cryptic names (codes), but very
descriptive titles.
Best regards,
Bart
