Agreed. I have made a JIRA for both cases. They will be fixed for
the next release.

We should also try and respect the Eclipse House Rules here, we
list a couple "special"
mapgraphics in the Layer... The "Other Rule" asks that we include a
menu entry called "other..." that will bring up a dialog allowing
the user to browse the available map graphics. You can see this in
action as part of eclipse with the "Show View" menu.
