Editing triggers a reload in the TableView

Current anytime an edit occurs to a layer the Table View is refreshed
completely (as long as the table view is viewing that layer).
I would like to do 2 things:
1. If the edit occurs in the table itself no update needs to take place
2. Otherwise only load the new/updated features and update the features in the
table, in place
